OMB-DBK19: Configuration and the DAQBOOK.CAL filePROBLEM: SOLUTION: 1. Locate the floppy disk containing the calibration constants file. 2. Configure the DBK19 according to the hardware configuration section of the manual. 3. Edit the calibration file, DAQBOOK.CAL, using a text editor such as NOTEPAD.EXE. This file will be located in the UTILS folder within the folder that you created when installing the Daqview Software. For example, the path for this file would be C:\DAQX\UTILS\DAQBOOK.CAL assuming that you installed the software in C:\DAQX. If you don't have a DAQBOOK.CAL file, the create one, and make it look like the example below, using the constants for your card. 4. Add the card number information within brackets. For example, if you have one DBK19 card, set the output jumper on the card for 0, then enter 0 within the brackets (see example below) 5. Add the calibration constants immediately after the card number (within the brackets). (These should be entered in the order given in the calibration file.) 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each card. 7. Verify that no two cards are configured with the same card/channel number. The following is an example of a DaqBook/DaqBoard calibration file configuring the main unit and two expansion cards connected to channels 3 and 5 of the main unit. The numbers under [EXP3] were found on the diskette that came with card 3, and the numbers under [EXP5] were found on the diskette that came with card 5. [MAIN] [EXP3] [EXP5] EXAMPLE 2: If you dont have a DAQBOOK.CAL file, use the following numbers for the [MAIN] section. Let's assume that you have one DBK19 with an address of 0. Keep in mind that you don't need to do this for cards such as DBK12, DBK13 or any card that does not come with calibration constants on diskette. [MAIN] [EXP0] |
