Omega’s PX971 smart pressure transducers combine the best features of analog and digital transducers into a high accuracy, competitively priced unit designed to meet the most demanding applications. All models have both a 0-5 volt dc analog output and bidirectional serial communications output, which can be used simultaneously. Serial outputs are available in either RS-232 or RS-485 format.

The bidirectional communications allows the user to read data from the PX971 as well as change the configuration. Some of the items the user can configure include zero and span, pressure units, sampling and update rates.

The PX971 combines a proven silicon piezoresistive sensor with a microprocessor for compensation. The result is a transducer with exceptional accuracy (0.05% full scale typical) over it’s full temperature range of -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F).

Digital Accuracy *: ±0.05% FS typical, ±0.1% FS max
Analog Accuracy *: ±0.06% FS typical, ±0.12% FS max *(Sum of worst case linearity, hysteresis, repeatability and thermal effects from -40 to 185°F)
Stability: 0.025% FS per year maximum
Operating Temperature: -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F)
Storage Temperature: -55 to 90°C (-67 to 194°F)
Pressure Units: 15 user selectable units
Proof Pressure: 3X full scale or 600 psi, whichever is less
Burst Pressure: 3X full scale or 700 psi, whichever is less
Static Pressure Effect: < 150 psi, no effect on accuracy, >150 psi Out of spec but will return to spec when < 150, (user can calibrate to spec in this range)
Media Compatibility: Non-corrosive, non-condensing, non-combustible gases
Sample Rate: Adjustable from 120/sec to 51.2 min/sample
Pressure Fittings: below 100 psi, 1/4 inch brass hose barbs; for ≥100 psi, 1/8 inch brass Swagelok fitting . Swagelok fittings available for all ranges on special order, add suffix "-SLF", no extra charge.
Electrical Connection: 6-pin plastic connector for non CE models, 6-pin military style connector for CE models
Mechanical Shock: 1500 g for 0.5 msec half sine (Per MIL-STD-883D, M2002.2 Cond B)
Vibration: 0.5" or 20 g's from 20 Hz to 2 kHz (Per MIL-STD-883D, M2007.2 Cond A)
